Miniature Train Layout
One of the Largest Model-Train Layouts in the Country!
The layout is the largest HO Scale layout in Western New York, coming in at 204 feet long by 14 feet wide. Construction began in 2001, and is still in progress to this day. The layout itself is an interactive timeline, displaying how transportation of goods in Western New York began with the canal in the 1800’s, and progressed to trains. People who visit the museum are able to interact with different things on the layout through push button controls such as small trains. Two six-track hidden yards are installed next to the center walkway and store twelve sets of one-hundred-car trains, featuring engines from various railroad lines as New York Central, Erie, Lackawanna, Pennsylvania, Lehigh Valley, Nickel Plate, Santa Fe, Erie Lackawanna, and others. New things are constantly being updated or worked on to further improve the layout.
